Great turnout today at our annual Toronto-St. Paul’s Meet and Greet with this year’s Canada Summer Jobs youth and employers!
The Canada Summer Jobs program helps connect young Canadians with valuable work experience by providing funding to small businesses, public-sector employers and not-for-profit organizations, allowing them to hire youth and continue to provide their full range of services over the summer. Young people across Canada have been getting hands on experience thanks to the program – we have delivered on our promise to double the number of those opportunities to 70,000 jobs!
This year, over 200 jobs were approved for funding right here in Toronto-St. Paul’s, providing local youth with valuable work experience as they develop their skills and eventually transition from school to the workplace.
We heard wonderful stories from the youth and organizations in our community – reminding us of the importance of setting young Canadians up for success. The Canada Summer Jobs program is doing just that by investing in their growth.
Thank you to all the incredible students and organizations who attended this year’s Meet & Greet, and to Nia for hosting us.
