Tax Time: Climate Action Incentive

Canadians deserve a serious plan that protects our environment and grows our economy. By pricing pollution and giving money back to Canadians, we are protecting our environment and keeping life affordable for families.

Residents right here in #TOStPauls and across Ontario can claim the #ClimateActionIncentive rebate when they file their 2018 Income Tax and Benefit return. An average family of four will receive $307 through the Climate Action Incentive when they file their taxes.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinics like the one at the Central Eglinton Community Centre can help you file and fight climate change at the same time! Click here to find out if you are eligible for assistance: http://centraleglinton.com/index.php/services/income-tax-clinic.

Putting a price on carbon pollution is a practical and affordable way to fight climate change. For more information on eligibility and on how to claim the Climate Action Incentive rebate, check out: http://www.canada.ca/climate-action-incentive

Carolyn: I’m here at the Central Eglinton Community Centre, which is operating a volunteer income tax clinic from now until April 18th.

Tax clinics like this one provide free help to those in need with their personal income tax returns.

Starting this year, they can also help you claim the Climate Action Incentive rebate when you file your 2018 Tax Return.

Our government is putting a price on pollution to protect our environment and giving money back to families.

Residents here in Toronto-St. Paul’s and across Ontario can now claim the Climate Action Incentive rebate on their personal income tax returns.

An average family of four will receive $307, and 8 out of 10 families will be better off from the benefit.

We all have a role to play in protecting the environment.

And the new Climate Action Incentive is making a cleaner economy more affordable for Canadians.

That’s why we’re so happy Central Eglinton Community Centre – and others! – are operating these kinds of tax clinics, on top of all the other great services that they provide to our community!
