I stopped by the 21st annual Helena Street Party on Saturday, June 24th. For over two decades, the residents of Helena Street in Toronto St. Paul’s have gathered for a day of games, dancing, BBQ and (everybody’s favourite) a tug-of-war between the north and south side of the street!
As Canada 150 approaches, I am reminded that our country is only as strong as the individual neighbourhoods which make it up. Helena Street is so fortunate to have so many residents who work to build and maintain a strong sense of community, and this party is just one example of their efforts.
Thank you to all who organized this fantastic celebration yet again, looking forward to next year!
